Royal Parks Half Marathon 2011

With only the fittest of the YPC crew doing this immense challenge, the Royal Parks half marathon takes place in 2011 at a date yet to be confirmed, but no doubt, we are excited! The Royal Parks Half Marathon sees hundreds of runners taking in the beautiful views of London's magnificent Royal Parks. Starting out at Hyde Park, this unusual half marathon is the ideal way to set yourself a fitness challenge and see the glorious colours of autumn in London at the same time.
Half marathon for charity
Raising money for five different charities, the Royal Parks half marathon invites runners to meet their own personal challenges as well as raise money for some well deserving causes at the same time. So if you have what it takes, get those trainers on now and starting limbering up.
Royal parks in London
Starting off in Hyde Park, the half marathon goes through St James's Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens, before heading back to Hyde Park for the finish. Runners will be able to take in the fantastic views that each of the Royal Parks provides with vists including famous landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Marble Arch and the Royal Albert Hall.
Get running
Aiming to raise millions of pounds to support the various charities, the Royal Parks half marathon also has plenty to offer the non runners. Even if pounding the parks of London over 13.1 miles is not your thing, you can still contribute to the event by donating to the charities or sponsoring a runner.
Food and fitness festival
After the half marathon itself there is also a full-on food and fitness festival in Hyde Park. Featuring a fantastic farmers' market, the festival also has exhibitions, demonstrations and most importantly food for all to enjoy as the race and the day progressed. You can also try out various different sports and enjoy live music too.
